The Forever Home Feline Ranch has "officially" been in operation for one year. We started actively raising funds and offering support to the community in August 2009. Since that time we have provided over $8,000 in veterinarian assistance and have placed 32 cats in their "Forever Home". We are continuing with the Pet Food Bank and Vet Care Assistance Program. In addition to these programs, the Board of Directors made a bold leap of faith during it's last meeting and voted to put aside 50% of all funds raised toward the purchase and support of the Ranch. Our strategic plan calls for $200,000 to purchase and renovate property. Currently, we have $1,800 set aside. While we still hope for an angel to donate the property, our goal is to raise the funds necessary to purchase the property. After working with a local realtor, the target price for the property itself will be $150,000 which would allow for $50,000 to convert outbuildings into wonderful feline sanctuaries. We want several habitats to serve the different needs of the feline population. We will need a quarantine area for our intake of animals. We would like to be able to shelter feline leukemia and FIV positive cats, outside or free roaming cats, senior cats, etc. Any property purchased will have to have some renovations. Please help us to realize our dream of making central Illinois a no-kill community by donating to the Ranch Support Fund.
